Meet the Trainers

  • Kayla Mooers

My passion for dogs has driven me to build a career around helping dogs and their families develop strong, positive relationships. With a background in biology and psychology, I take a science-based approach to training. I am an AKC-approved CGC evaluator, pet first aid certified, and a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP). I am also dedicated to staying current in the field and am always continuing my education through online courses.

When I’m not working with your dogs, you can find me with my own four: Jack, Link, Zeus, and Mako.

  • Cody Bernard

I’m a dog trainer who’s all about helping reactive dogs feel more confident and connected with their people. I’m a member of the IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals) and currently working on my CDT-KSA through them. My training style focuses on keeping things clear, consistent, and fair so both dogs and humans feel set up for success. If I’m not training your dogs, I’m out adventuring with my two Australian Shepherds, Comet and Kai; they keep me inspired and are the reason I love what I do.

Our Interns

At Pine State Paws, we believe every dog deserves a chance to find their forever home. That’s why we chose to foster, so we can help give dogs a second chance and a fresh start. Our foster dogs are lovingly referred to as our “interns.” While they may be temporary team members, they’re treated just like the rest of the crew. Each one is getting the structure, support, and love they need as they prepare for their new homes. During their stay, they join group walks/play, participate in training, and learn what it means to be part of a family. Take a look at our current interns who are available for adoption! Please contact us if you are interested in adopting!

Brody

Brody is a 7-8 year old aussie/lab mix with a big heart. He’s looking for a home where he can be the only pet; he prefers the quiet life without other animals or small children. He’d thrive with someone who understands his breed and appreciates a loyal companion. He loves his humans, belly rubs, walks, and taking naps on the couch.

Yoshi

Yoshi is a 1 year old high-energy aussie mix who happens to be deaf. He’s done an incredible job adjusting and is ready for a home that can continue supporting him with clear communication and patience. Once he trusts you, he’s incredibly sweet and connected. Yoshi would love a fenced in yard where he can get the zoomies all day.
