Frequently Asked Questions
-
We are a fully licensed and insured facility offering private in-home lessons, daycare, overnight boarding services, and group classes.

For the safety of all dogs in our care, up-to-date vaccinations are required. Please provide proof of your dog's updated vaccinations, including rabies, distemper, parvo, lepto, and bordetella (kennel cough) before booking. We also require a clean fecal sample (specifically showing negative for giardia) every 6 months, and for your dog to be on a flea/tick prevention.
If your dog has not attended daycare or boarding with us before, we also require an orientation, which will allow us to meet and make sure our facility will be a good fit for your dog.
-
Requirements can vary from one facility to another, but we pride ourselves on maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for every dog in our care. Because dogs in our daycare and boarding programs share spaces and interact closely with one another, we require current vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, and a negative fecal exam (including Giardia) every 6 months. Routine fecal testing helps reduce the risk of intestinal parasites being brought into the facility and spreading to other dogs.
While no system can completely eliminate risk, we believe these preventative measures are an important part of protecting the health and well-being of all dogs in our care. Our goal is to be proactive whenever possible so that everyone can enjoy a safe and positive experience.

Pine State Paws is a small, trainer-owned facility run out of our home, designed to provide a safe and personalized experience for every dog in our care. Rather than focusing on large numbers of dogs, we intentionally keep our groups small so we can provide closer supervision and get to know each dog's individual needs.
Dogs are grouped based on factors such as size, age, play style, energy level, and temperament. Our goal is to create groups that encourage safe, positive interactions while minimizing stress and overstimulation.
-
Not necessarily. We evaluate each dog on an individual basis and consider factors such as age, behavior, and compatibility with our program. However, dogs that are currently in heat cannot attend daycare or boarding.

-
Yes. All training programs begin with a behavior consultation. This gives us the opportunity to learn more about your dog, discuss your goals, assess any behavior concerns, and create a training plan tailored to your dog's individual needs and your lifestyle.

We ask that you provide enough food for your dog's entire stay. If your dog takes any medications or supplements, please bring those as well, along with clear instructions. You're welcome to send your dog with a favorite blanket, bed, or toy from home, although we cannot guarantee that personal items will not become damaged during their stay.

We recommend reaching out as soon as you know you’d like to schedule. All of our services are scheduled on a first come, first served basis, and availability can fill quickly. Booking as early as possible gives you the best chance of securing your preferred dates, especially for boarding during holidays and peak travel times.
